Located in Sumner County, on the Northwestern side of Nashville, this city is comparable in land size to Franklin, Tennessee (at the opposite side of town). While Franklin may be newer overall, Hendersonville has experienced some recent growth with the development of the small area known as Indian Lakes Village where locals can dine, work, shop and live. Hendersonville is located 20 to 30 minutes outside of Nashville. Perhaps the biggest draw to Hendersonville is Old Hickory Lake. One of two local recreational lake, this one is the only one of the two where home sites are allowed on the lake. Take in the beauty of Old Hickory Lake across several different cities in the area like Mount Juliet, Old Hickory, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Lebanon and more with Hendersonville being the closest to the city, lake and everything one would need in conveniences and a city. One of the most famous pieces of property in Hendersonville was the property owned previously by Johnny Cash on Old Hickory Lake that burned to the ground in April of 2007 after it was purchased by Barry Gibbs of the Bee Gee's.
